Amina Udgoon, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy: - (i) What action is the Government taking to avert the resultant effects of deregistration of Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) cards undertaken on 15th October, 2022 across the country, and in particular in ASAL areas, where mobile cash transfers for the elderly, mobile and online banking, distribution of relief food and security may have been severely affected? (ii) What measures has the Government taken to conduct public participation and sensitization activities across the country, and in particular in ASAL regions, on the importance and procedure for registering sim cards?
