Jared Okelo, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) explain when and how Yara and Mashambani Farm Inputs Eldoret Ltd were selected by the Kenya National Trading Corporation (KNTC) as suppliers of fertilizers under the fertilizers subsidy programme yet there is no record that KNTC floated a tender for the same, and confirm if the legal procurement process was followed? (ii) provide details of the total amount of taxpayers’ money that KNTC was to pay the suppliers and the quantity of each type of fertilizers to be supplied? (iii) state the amount of money already paid to Mashambani Farm Inputs and the quantity of fertilizers it has already supplied to KNTC and at what price per 50kg bag of each type of fertilizer? (iv) apprise Kenyans on the quantity of the fertilizers supplied by Mashambani Farm Inputs that KNTC has already sold to farmers and state their retail prices?
