The Member for Lamu East (Hon. (Capt.) Ruweida Obo, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration: - Could the Cabinet Secretary -- (i) confirm whether land disputes, terrorism, economic sabotage or political differences are the key factors behind insecurity in Lamu County and further clarify whether any compensation will be provided to the communities affected by the resultant attacks? (ii) state the measures the Government is pursuing to mitigate the negative effects of prevailing insecurity in Lamu County such as stagnation of development projects, a spike in food prices as well as hindrance to devolution within the County? (iii) provide measures the Government has put in place to detect improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in order to forestall the loss of innocent lives?
