The Member for Tharaka (Hon. George Murugara, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for East African Community (EAC), the ASALs and Regional Development: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) explain why the sub-counties of Tharaka North, Tharaka South and Chiakariga in Tharaka Constituency of Tharaka Nithi County are not included in the Government’s ASALs programs despite being arid and semi-arid areas? (ii) indicate the timelines within which these sub- counties will be included in the ASAL programmes, given that their exclusion has resulted in significant hardships for teachers, civil servants, and residents in general because they tend to miss out on essential services provided by the Government to ASAL areas?
