Major Dekow, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) provide details on measures that the Government has taken to control and manage perennial flooding of Tana River which is occasioned or exacerbated by spillovers from hydropower generation dams operated by KenGen, and which has led to destruction of farms, farm produce, farm equipment and loss of livestock especially on farmers and residents of Garissa Township based along the river? (ii) state the timelines within which the Government shall compensate farmers and residents of Garissa Township who have been displaced from their lands due to flooding of Tana River?
