The Nominated Member (Hon. Umulkher Harun, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration: - Could the Cabinet Secretary – (i) Provide the status report on the number of Kenyans who have attained the age of 18 years and have applied for issuance of National Identification Cards (IDs), specify the number of applications that have been processed, the number that has not been processed and the reasons for delayed issuance, with respect to applicants from Garissa, Wajir and Marsabit Counties? (ii) What measures has the Ministry put in place to address delays in issuance of IDs and to eliminate the many hurdles and perceived profiling that eligible applicants, in particular those from Garissa, Wajir and Marsabit Counties face when applying for issuance of IDs?
