Gladys Boss, MGH, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development: - Could the Cabinet Secretary— (i) provide the status of implementation of the recommendations of the National Assembly with regards to Public Petition No. 70 of 2019 regarding withdrawal of harmful chemical pesticides in the Kenyan Market and reasons for the inordinate delays in the implementation of the resolutions including delay in formulation of regulations and amendments to the Pest Control Act, 2013 and other relevant legislations to regulate on distribution and retailing of pesticides, and dissemination of information on withdrawn or banned pesticides? (ii) explain the status of the formulation of regulations on distribution and retailing of pesticides to ensure that only licensed and registered persons operate agrovets outlets in the country? (iii) provide the status of analysis of harmful and toxic pesticides into Kenya despite the same products being on the banned list of products by the European Union, United States of America and other markets?
