Motion text

THAT, aware that Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) is a critical component in effective service delivery in all sectors of our economy; further aware that the fibre optic backbone (FOB) is already laid in most counties; appreciating that advanced medical equipment is now available in county medical institutions; acknowledging that medical diagnosis and care is critical and costly; concerned about the shortage of medical personnel trained in various specialties in the health sector; cognizant of the beneficial role of telemedicine in consultations irrespective of the physical location of consultants; the Senate urges the National Government to provide fibre optic connectivity to referral and level 4 and 5 public hospitals in all counties.
