The Member for Bumula (Hon. Wanami Wamboka, MP) to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry:- Could the Cabinet Secretary— (i) outline specific steps the Government is taking to implement the recommendations of the Multi-Agency Committee on Harmonizing Riparian Land Laws established by the Ministry, and what challenges have hindered progress in resolving legal conflicts in the land sector? (ii) indicate when will the Ministry provide a standard definition of what of riparian areas is to address the contradictions created by various legislation among them the Water Act, the Environmental Management and Coordination Act, and the Physical Planning Act and when will this definition be put in form of a Bill for consideration by Parliament? (iii) clarify whether the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) conducted an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) on Seefar Apartments in Nairobi County before its construction, and if so, what were the findings? (iv) state the measures taken by NEMA to ensure enforcement measures against developers who have encroached on riparian land in violation of environmental laws, and provide a list of properties that have been earmarked for demolition?
