THAT, notwithstanding the Resolution of the Senate made on 15th February, 2024 (approval of the Senate Calendar), pursuant to Standing Order 32 (4), the Senate resolves to extend the recess so as to resume Regular Sittings on Tuesday, 17th September, 2024, and that the Senate Calendar (Regular Sessions) for the Third Session, 2024, be altered accordingly.

It is notified that the Hearing Programme for the proposed removal from office, by impeachment, of Honourable Kawira Mwangaza, the Governor of Meru County for Tuesday, 20th August, 2024, will be as follows –

10:00 am – 2:00 pm Evidence by the Governor (Evidence of witnesses, if any, cross-examination and re-examination).
2:00 pm– 3:00 pm Lunch Break
3:00 pm – 3:30 pm Questions/Requests for Clarification by Senators.
3:30 pm – 4:30 pm Closing Statement on behalf of the County Assembly (60 minutes).
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm Closing Statement on behalf of the Governor (60 minutes).
5:30 pm Motion on the proposed removal from office, by impeachment, of Honourable Kawira Mwangaza, the Governor of Meru County.
